Volunteering and Arts, Heritage and Cultural Activity

Volunteer Centres find volunteers and place them with a wide range of arts, heritage, and cultural services, including:

Museums
Libraries
Art galleries
Heritage sites, such as stately homes, gardens, and other attractions
Conservation activities and organisations
Theatres and drama groups
Tourism services and visitor attractions, for example, Tourist Information Centres, North York Moors Railway, National Trust etc.

Sports and the 2012 Games

Harrogate Volunteer Centre, on behalf of the Network, secured funding to run workshops on how organisations can develop 2012-inspired volunteering opportunities, as a way of capturing and making best use of the enthusiasm for voluntary activity in the run up to the Games.

Northallerton Volunteer Centre, on behalf of the Network of Volunteer Centres, has secured funding to increase participation in Sports volunteering and to better meet the volunteering needs of local sports groups.
