Volunteering in Faith Communities

A massive amount of volunteering takes place in faith communities. Activities might include helping out at a local church, running community activities and clubs, organising and staffing events and festivals, and delivering local community services.

Volunteer Centres across North Yorkshire promote faith-based volunteering opportunities and broker volunteers into faith groups.

If you are a faith group and wish to attract more volunteers to support your services and activities, contact your local Volunteer Centre.

If you are interested in volunteering in a faith organisation, contact your local Volunteer Centre to see what is available.  If there is nothing available in your area, the Centre will make contact with organisations that may be able to offer volunteering opportunities.

If you’ve had a bad or good experience volunteering or want to recommend a way we can improve our service, we’d love to hear about it. Please fill out one of these forms.
